Plague Widow - This Black Earth

Not exactly recent news, but my friends in Plague Widow not only released an EP back in September, they've also signed with Willowtip Records. The band definitely deserves the recognition, as guitarist and graphic artist Hal Rotter (Rotting Graphics) has been involved with a number of other underground bands in the California death metal/grind scene, must notably Slaughterbox, and as of late they've been gaining a significant following. Plague Widow plays some pretty irresistible blackened deathgrind, so if you have a pulse and like extreme music, you'll probably enjoy this.

You can expect their debut full-length sometime next year.

Frontierer - The Collapse

Well, this has certainly been a good week. Frontierer have just dropped their debut EP, and although it's short, it should please those of you craving fret madness and crushingly heavy grooves since the demise of The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza.

Cult Leader - Skin Crawler

Holy hell, this was just too exciting not to share. I'm sure many of you recall Salt Lake City's Gaza calling it quits earlier this year. Well, 3/4 of the band (minus vocalist John Parkin) have reformed as Cult Leader, and have signed with Jacob Bannon's reputable Deathwish Inc. Stoked to see these dudes are still making music.

Cult Leader's new EP, Nothing For Us Here, is scheduled to drop in April of next year.
